The Korean manufacturer has unveiled the specs to its latest addition to the hot hatch market in the form of the i30 N. The i30 will be priced from around R465,000 in its most basic form which push’s out 242bhp. It has been said that in the UK there will be a performance pack upgrade for the car which will take it up to 271bhp.
The performance pack version of the i30 N will retail for around R520,000 so let’s hope that it will come to South Africa sometime soon. This hot hatch outshines its competitors in the market, namely the VW Golf GTI which is impressive. It is front-wheel-drive that comes with a six-speed manual transmission and an acclaimed 0-60mph time of 6.2 seconds which isn’t bad for a hot-hatch.
A few more fun features also come on the i30 N, including launch control and custom set up options for the driver to play around with to make the car more dynamically capable. It’s also quite a good-looking car with modern lines and aggressive vents scattered across the body.
This car has great potential as it boasts good numbers across the board especially compared to its nearest rivals. The i30N was also tested and raced at the Nürburgring, so dynamically it should be really well balanced and fun to drive especially as its younger brother, the i20 N is a really good car.
