Rumor has it that Ferrari could potentially enter the SUV market in the not too distant future. Ferrari boss, Sergio Marchionne has said that they will be considering the idea over the next 30 months to analyze the market and see how they would fit into it, if at all.
The vehicle in question has been referred to as an FUV (Ferrari Utility Vehicle) and was previously played down by the Ferrari boss, but has now been heavily considered which gives us hope that Ferrari might show us what they’ve got.
Marchionne said “We need to learn how to master this whole new relationship between exclusivity and scarcity of product, then we’re going to balance this desire to grow with a widening of the product portfolio.”
Ferrari have a current sale limit of 10,000 cars per year but the FUV might form part of a five-year-plan that may target to surpass that. With the car market ever-changing, manufacturers have to figure out new ways to fit into the industry constantly.
