How often do you get to see over 100 supercars congregated at one location? For some people that will never happen but luckily for us at The Messenger Motoring it became a reality this past weekend. Cars & Coffee hosted by Last Lion Lifestyle conjured up another magical event in Cape Town which saw some of the world’s most prestigious supercars show their faces, including McLaren’s new 720S, Lamborghini’s legendary Aventador SV and countless others.
The event was hosted at Audi Centre Cape Town for the first time since Cars & Coffee was brought to South Africa. It was incredible seeing so many cars and car lovers in one place; a truly special atmosphere. This event really highlighted how much passion for cars there is in this country and the number is only growing which is fantastic to see. Once all the cars had arrived at the venue it was a great opportunity for people to network, talk about cars and most importantly, get down to the driving.
Over 100 cars lined up at the main junction upon leaving the venue which was pure eye candy for onlookers. The group headed down the N1 towards Paarl in what has to be the greatest convoy of all time. Lead by the man himself, Ish Kaskar in his ‘hotter’ red Lamborghini Gallardo spider, followed by an endless line of dream supercars. The Cars & Coffee convoy made a pit stop at the N1 Engen gas station which created quite a stir as you might imagine. It was another opportunity to soak in the experience and really appreciate the turn out for this phenomenal event.
After the Engen N1, the fleet then headed towards the final destination in Rawsonville, about 90 kilometers from central Cape Town. Along the way, a line formed in front of the Du Toitskloof tunnel to produce some of the best echo sounds in the world. A vast selection of V8’s, turbos and burnouts formed part of the epic experience. Everyone then lined up on the bridge to take in the truly spectacular scenery offered by this beautiful country, not to mention the weather was perfect.
The convoy then headed for the final destination where all the cars were parked once more and everyone was treated to a buffet lunch. The final speeches were given and everybody could then toast to a perfect Sunday out. Once again, Cars & Coffee with Last Lion Lifestyle produced a truly fantastic event that was enjoyed by all who attended and those who were lucky enough to see it on the move. A big thanks to Ish Kaskar and all those who form part of Last Lion Lifestyle for a fantastic opportunity given to us. We can’t wait for the next one!
